      And some advice for …
And some advice for our ‘CIO’ Mr Kundra…try not to use the term ‘game changing’ more than once in a single speech…
From what I heard, you basically said- a) the currrent govt IT and services infrastructure is broken
(no kidding) b) no govt IT project seems to have succeeded or has been on budget c) we are spending $79 billion, plus interest, of your money to ‘fix’ it
      d) it will be a ‘game-changer’

    2. jhouse770 Says:

And let me add one …
And let me add one more point…it wasn’t $100 billion from the Recovery Act….it was $100 billion PLUS INTEREST over x years, so they are misleading us from the outset of their speech.
The U.S. govt borrowed EVERY CENT of that money they just blew on ‘innovation’….from China, Japan, etc.
      Our money.
      There will be payback, alright.

    3. jhouse770 Says:

      These are just …
These are just political speeches. REAL innovation comes form the private sector…in the garages and workshops of private individuals and businesses.
SHOW us exactly what ‘innovation’ we bought with $100 billion in ’stimulus’ funds….like, a chart with the accouting and payback…not long-winded policy wonk speeches.

Just read .. i don’t pick up this through Blogs or ? – through THE public WORDS, of each of them.

      How is this …
How is this supposed to make me feel as though everything is transparent? All the these “Open for Questions”, are one sided answers. Where are the other sides? Seems like propaganda under the cloak of tranparency. This is definitley not bipart’ite. Seems to me like everyone is trying to counter the real concerns being brought up by the Tea parties. Funny how everyone was calling the tea partiers Kooks just a little while ago, Now both sides are trying to sway them to their side. Really is sad!!!

      Because they are …
Because they are half the electorate. If you don’t listen to the other side, you don’t get anything done. Simple as that.

    9. quizerry Says:

      If you want …
If you want innovation I suggest leaving it to the private sector. To give them incentive and money to advance technology. How about cutting taxes across the board and cutting corporate tax in half. Next cut spending, cut federal aid to states in half. Abolish inefficient and poorly run programs. Cut corporate welfare. Then we would have an innovation and economic boom.

Only HONEST Christian Charities use their donations FOR ACTUAL HELP and Hospitals and Doctors. Sadly ~

      Please, please, do …
Please, please, do NOT forget about Haiti. So many of us are former Haitians! Or, we have relatives living in Haiti. Please, we are obligated to rebuild Haiti, and take care of the sick and injured!! We should bring them to live while we rebuild their nation!!!! The should be given the option to come and have American citizenship if they wish. I would be happy to help pay extra taxes in order to take care of them!! Haitians are such sweet and humble people!!!!

      I agree, I think…

I think its fantastic that Obama is trying to modernize and streamline the bureaucracy, so far its has had a lot of success pointing to programs that are not working and or are unneeded. And the program is still in logistical development phase.

For example: The military ordered like 180 Boeing C-17 aircraft, although Boeing kept making the aircraft after the contract was filled, and the the government kept paying the bill for the extra ones.

    25. GoMetricToday Says:

      Why don’t we finish …
Why don’t we finish our conversion to the metric system? We are one of 3 countries in the world that don’t use it as a standard. We started and then stopped. Our economy would be boosted better with conversion of the road signs. Someone would have to make them. Which means they need workers. American products would be more desirable around the world if they metric only. WE NEED TO FINISH OUR METRIC CONVERSION ALREADY!
