This is an attempt at documenting Jacob gaining the ability to use his arms. We put together the trapeze with PVC pipe to fit Jacob’s frame and the interaction needed by the nurses. Today was the first time we used this device. This is video 2 of Jacob knocking over blocks. Watch all 3 to see how he learns to move his arms, just a little bit, to knock over the blocks. You will also notice a couple of large movements which are new for Jacob.
Jacob has Spinal Muscular Atrophy type I. This disease has isolated a very smart little boy in a body that just doesn’t work right. He has very little movement of any body parts except his hands and fingers. Watch him grow.
