APA Awards 2010: Campus Partners’ University District Revitalization – Columbus, OH

Posted by admin on April 27th, 2010 and filed under smart growth neighborhood | No Comments »

National Planning Excellence Award for Implementation

    Campus Partners’ University District Revitalization
    Columbus, Ohio

Campus Partners is a university-led partnership that has succeeded in revitalizing the economically and racially diverse district around Ohio State University. OSU formed Campus Partners in 1995 with an independent mission and board responsible to stakeholders beyond its university to address physical, social, and environmental issues facing an entire urban district with a population of 40,000.

The “smart growth” agenda — aimed at reviving the district’s neighborhoods as places of choice — has three core goals: pursuit of a fully inclusive planning process involving the city, residents, and community groups; introduction of new amenities and housing to attract the university community back to the district; and promotion of social equity by improving quality of life and economic opportunity for all residents. Campus Partners has leveraged more than $150 million in investment in district neighborhoods, including renovation and development of roughly 1,000 housing units of Section 8, affordable, and market-rate housing; redevelopment of a large brownfield site; a new police station; new public elementary school; and OSU’s new early-childhood learning center.

Posted by admin on April 26th, 2010 and filed under smart growth history | 1 Comment »

i have a test coming up and the teacher gave out some papers that we can do for extra points, and I always FAIL history.. i need a few more questions still, answered like 8 of them already( im SO smart..kinda..)

    1. How did entrepreneurs contribute to the growth of the economy ?
    2. What is the underlying idea of the mercantilism theory ?
    3. Under mercantilism, how does a nation achieve a favorable balance of trade ?
    4. Why were colonies important in the mercantilism system?

yeah i suck at those questions T^T
    thanks if u helped (:

    1. by providing whores and booze to the working men, leading to a early death, but numbing there brains into working for a few more years first.

    2. supply and demand..

    3. not a clue, google it.

    4. the more colonies a nation has, the more indigenous people the royalty can rape, pillage and plunder, leading to a higher G.N.P. for the Motherland!

    hope this helped : )

Spiritually speaking now the science of Global Warming has been proved to be based on doctored data?

Will "smart growth " become the next false God to be used to control us. UN agenda 21.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/10/un_agenda_21_coming_to_a_neigh.html

Its hard to tell what the spiritually blind will worship. The religion of Science and their false prophets will remain a mega church with the relentless universe of lies coming from the 4 corners of deceit, government, academia, science, and the main stream media.

The complicit main stream media is the biggest shock to me. Their role in this Global hoax should not be overlooked. I say this because justice will never be served to the likes of Al Gore and others when the main stream media is conspiring against the people. Charges of treason and terrorism should be filed against all those that spewed their propaganda.
